Easy Homemade Lavender Sleep spray.

This is a really simple recipe to make your own lavender sleep spray. Research has suggested that smelling lavender before bed can help promote better sleep. You can mist this spray onto your pillow or around your room before bed.

Before we look at how to make the spray, let’s take a quick look at sleep hygiene.

sleep hygiene

If you are having trouble sleeping, it is important that you look at different ways you can improve your sleep. For example,-

  • Make sure your bedroom is restful and peaceful. Dark, quiet, and cool rooms are the best environments.
  • Stick to the same times to go to bed and get up.
  • Journal anything that is playing on your mind before you go to bed.
  • It’s also a good idea to make a list if you have a lot to do the next day or the week ahead.
  • If you really cannot sleep, get up and read or do something relaxing. Try to stay away from your phone!

If you are really struggling with long-term sleep problems, it is worth seeing a doctor. Always be mindful when using oils, and speak to a doctor if you are uncertain about using any oils or herbs.*

Things you need

Putting it all together.

It really depends on how strong you like your lavender scent to be. I suggest 30 drops. You can always add more if it does not smell strong enough for you.

Next, you need to add your rose water—around 10–15 drops. Lastly, fill the rest of your bottle with witch hazel. If you wish, you could add dried lavender. Give it a good shake, and make sure that you do this every time you want to use it.

Lavender sleep bag

You could always make a lavender bag like the one below. You just need a handful of dried lavender and a muslin or organza bag. Keep the bag near your bed. Both will also make great, thoughtful gifts.
